💬 "Rip Off!" they commented on a post. "Why pay $130 for occlusion gear when you can snag one a cheap elastic strap on Amazon for $20?" 🤔
Well, with that logic, why not go even cheaper? Grab a rope, dog collar, wrist sweat band, or electrical cord for $3 or just use your thumbs! (Please, DON'T do this! 🚫)
Here's why we care and why you should too:
1️⃣ Safety First! 🦺
Elastic straps "buckle" under stress. As your muscles flex, these straps fold up in a "U" shaape, concentrating all that pressure on a tiny area. That means you'd need to crank up the pressure to over 300 mmHg for the strap to be effective! Yikes! (Our cuff takes 75 mmHg) See the pressure test illustration (thats a 3.25" strap applying pressure in just .5"), only the bright red area is appling pressure. And that pressure doubles when your muscles contract. Talk about dangerous! 🆘
2️⃣ Comfort Counts 🛋️
Elastic and rigid straps were once loved by the "no pain, no gain" crowd. But we prefer to keep it comfy! Really! You want pain? If you like punishment, our gear is not for you. Say goodbye to nerve damage, restricted movement, and low adherence. If you use an elastic strap it is "comfortable" then you do not have it tight enough to be effective. Don't believe me. You can call, comment or text. 👋
3️⃣ Built to Last 🏋️♂️
Cheap elastic straps? They stretch, elastic fibers snap, and they break. You need durability, not disposable gear! 🔄
4️⃣ Real Results! 🏆
"Stretch it tight" doesn't cut it when you figure out how tight to pull the strap. You need precision for effectiveness. If you can guess 300 mmHg withing 20 mmHg accurately, you get the golf clap. Get the gear that works! 🎯
So, if you want a cheap, painful, unsafe occlusion strap, go ahead and spend your $20. They sell a ton. You can just pretend to do occlusion training or actually do it. But we promise, you'll be looking for a better option in 6 months if you are serious and not just dressing up your gym look. Invest wisely and train safely! 💪✨ @neseminars @the.athletelab @bjjpt_acl_guy @ddpyoga @carolynefit_ @handandorthophysicaltherapy @utahphysicaltherapy #aca @aptapics @nasm_fitness @wilk_kevin #bfr #bfrtraining #physicaltherapist #physicaltherapy #chiropractor #chiropractic #fitness
